Mr. Childers is the President and CEO of Synergy Renewables. In this capacity, Mr. Childers is responsible for global business development and project management. He brings over 25 years of broad and deep industry experience and has completed $9 billion in project financings, created $14 billion in value from acquisitions representing 18,700 megawatts and taken 5,000 megawatts of projects from development to construction. Prior to forming Synergy Renewables, Mr. Childers served as President and CEO of TXU Development and was part of the senior leadership team at TXU Corporation. Mr. Childers was also Executive Vice President at The Shaw Group in charge of engineering, construction and merger and acquisition activity globally as well as President of Shaw Group's subsidiary Stone & Webster and held leadership positions and oversaw international energy development at Entergy Corporation and Edison Mission Energy. Educated in finance, Mr. Childers obtained his degree at the University of San Diego.Ms. Bell is the COO and CFO of Synergy Renewables. In this capacity, Ms. Bell is responsible for Synergy’s financial affairs, fundraising and risk management. Prior to joining Synergy, Ms. Bell was a cofounding partner and sat on the investment committee and management committee of Tiger Infrastructure Partners, a private equity business spin out from Lehman Brothers. Ms. Bell brings over 30 years of power experience to Synergy and an equity investment record exceeding $5 billion. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Ms. Bell headed GE Energy Financial Services Power Team. Ms. Bell also held leadership positions at Duke/Louis Dreyfus, Prudential Power Funding, and Salomon Brothers. Ms. Bell holds an A.B. in Economics from Smith College.
Mr. Harrell is the SVP of Engineering and Construction for Synergy Renewables. Mr. Harrell is responsible for project implementation, including engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning for each of the entity’s projects. Mr. Harrell possesses over 35 years experience in engineering and constructing electrical generation facilities. Prior to joining Synergy, Mr. Harrell served as Executive Director for Natural Gas Projects at The Shaw Group, during which time he oversaw the construction of 2,300 MW of generating assets, representing investments of $1.5 billion. Mr. Harrell holds a B.S. in Structural Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Mr. Ward is the SVP of Operations and Asset Management for Synergy Renewables. Prior to joining Synergy, Mr. Ward served as Director of BP Capital’s power and utilities group, and previously oversaw business and project development, asset management, regulatory affairs, and resource planning at several utilities, engineering, and construction firms. His experience in asset management and operations includes managing more than 6,000 MW of coal, natural gas, and wind generating facilities. Mr. Ward graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Phillips is the VP of Business Development for Synergy Renewables. Mr. Phillips is responsible for project development and project acquisition, including contract negotiations, site selection, permitting oversight, and development team leadership. Prior to joining Synergy, he served as Vice President of Development at The Shaw Group and Director of Environmental Affairs at Continental Airlines. Mr. Phillips has an undergraduate degree in General Studies from Nicholls State University, a Master’s Degrees in Environmental Science from the University of Houston, and a Masters in Business Administration from Tulane University.
Mr. Allen is Director of Business Development for Synergy Renewables. Mr. Allen is involved in general business development, including technology research, site selection, and project development. Mr. Allen is fluent in Spanish and focuses his development activities in Puerto Rico. Mr. Allen holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Westmont College.
Mr. Folsom is the Materials Recovery Specialist for Synergy Renewables. Mr. Folsom brings 23 years of experience in waste management and recycling, including development of material recovery and transfer stations, domestic and international materials marketing, and managing transportation logistics. Mr. Folsom received his degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mr. Kemp is Director of Finance for Synergy Renewables. Mr. Kemp is primarily responsible for financial modeling and analysis, as well as oversight of Synergy’s treasury, accounting, and financial reporting functions. Mr. Kemp is a CPA licensed in the states of Georgia and Texas and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia.
Mr. Bayer is an Economic Analyst for Synergy Renewables. Mr. Bayer is responsible for market and economic research and financial modeling and analysis. Mr. Bayer holds a B.A. in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.
Ms. Shelton is the Executive Administrative Assistant/Office Manager for Synergy Renewables. Prior to coming on board with Synergy Renewables, Judy was with Energy Future Holdings/Luminant (formerly TXU) as Executive Administrative Assistant for thirty years. Her last assignment there was assistant to Mike Childers.
